Virginia Repertory Theatre is a nonprofit, professional theatre company and the result of the 2012 merger of Barksdale Theatre and Theatre IV. Virginia Rep has four distinct venues, as well as an educational touring arm, and is the largest professional theatre and one of the largest performing arts organizations in Central Virginia. Virginia Rep dedicated to the development and production of new plays, and seeks outside producing collaboration to ensure the play has a life beyond its development and production at Virginia Rep. For 65 years Virginia Rep has served Virginia’s adults, children, families and schools and contributed to the cultural, educational, and economic life of our city and region.

Local dance enthusiasts founded Richmond Ballet in 1957 as a performance outlet for students in local dance programs. In 1984, Richmond Ballet became the first professional ballet company in the Commonwealth and was designated “The State Ballet of Virginia” in 1990. Richmond Ballet’s mission is to awaken and uplift the human spirit, both for audiences and artists. It is dedicated to the promotion, preservation and continuing evolution of the art form of ballet. Richmond Ballet strives to keep meaningful works of dance alive and to produce and foster new works that remain true to these values.

CultureWorks serves the Richmond and Tri-Cities region, along with the counties of Charles City, Chesterfield, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, New Kent, Powhatan, and the town of Ashland. These areas include an array of constituents from individual practicing artists and grassroots arts organizations, to large well-established cultural nonprofits. Their mission is to drive a vibrant community by inspiring, enabling and cultivating world-class arts and culture.
